Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned the group, and they held auditions to find a replacement frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their album Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by re-discovering old tapes and demos to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was a hit by fans, and the band embarked on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock band from the United States. It was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The group of six includes guitarist/vocalist Steve Lukather, bassist David Paich as well as keyboardist/vocalist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarist/vocalist Joseph Williams. The band's diverse mix of influences has made them one of the most listened-to bands of all time. The band decided to let him go at the conclusion of the tour, and they hired singer/guitarist Joseph Williams in his place. David Hungate, the drummer was also let go following the tour. He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.

The TOTO Museum is a futuristic structure with a variety of exhibition rooms that are dedicated to presenting the story of the company and its most innovative products. The museum's exhibits include toilets and faucets as well as tableware that have contributed to the growth of TOTO over the past half century. Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video of the band is "Africa" which has over one billion views. The video is set in a library and shows the band performing in front of a pile of books about Africa.

The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by members of the band and was produced by David Paich. It was a big hit in Europe and other countries. The single's success helped Toto gain popularity following their previous album, Turn Back, failed to chart in the United States.

After the album's release, Toto went on a world tour. The group featured touring backing musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. Steve Lukather also released his second solo record, Luke.

In 1985 the drummer Fergie Frederiksen left Toto due to personal reasons. The group decided to conduct an audition and eventually selected Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.

Before and during the time of Toto's creation, its members worked as session musicians for a broad variety of artists. Toto was created after Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and Boz Scaggs recorded Silk Degrees. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

In 1998, Toto began working on an album called Old Is New. The album featured three brand new tracks, as well as several recordings of older songs. The album received a lot of attention across the globe and the band embarked on a world tour to promote the album.

Toto was formed in Los Angeles, California by high school friends, David Paich, Steve Lukather and brothers Jeff and Mike Porcaro. The band has sold more than 40 million albums and is among the most popular bands in the world. The band continues to perform sold-out concerts around the world and has won numerous awards and honors.
